Exclusion from School for Health Reasons
State law requires that children be excluded from school for the following reasons:
- Contagious health problem.
- Lack of immunizations except when having a waiver.
- Children with head lice will be excluded from school until the hair has been treated and ALL of the eggs (nits) have been removed.
Children who have been ill during the night should not be brought to school the next morning Children should stay at home if they have fever, rash, sore throat, infected eyes, upset stomach, vomiting, or other signs of illness. If a child comes with any of these symptoms or becomes ill during the day, parents will be called to pick up the child immediately. A note from your doctor must accompany a child who is brought to school with a rash, stating that it is not contagious.
These rules are not intended to inconvenience you, but are for the protection of your child, as well as others in the school.
